Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Campus Patrols in Indianapolis, IN , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within an educational location. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents, while you deliver outstanding customer service and communicate clearly with staff, students, and visitors. You will be part of a caring and agile team that values integrity and innovation, helping to create a welcoming and secure environment for everyone on campus.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the education location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, helping to maintain order within the educational environment.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the campus and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
- Observe and report any irregularities, such as property damage, suspicious activity, or unauthorized persons on campus grounds.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and visitors to provide assistance and information as needed.
- Document all incidents and/or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal protocols.
- Support access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and helping to enforce campus policies.
