Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Beat Patrol in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a dynamic tech, media, and/or telecom location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control by verifying badges and visitor credentials, document observations, and communicate clearly with site staff and your Allied Universal team. Requirements

  • Hold a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal and site leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior spaces, common areas, and perimeter routes, documenting observations and noting conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other building systems when assigned, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations through the established chain of communication.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing assistance, contacting appropriate responders, and completing required notifications.
  • Complete shift activity reports and incident documentation, and support access control tasks such as checking identification, managing visitor entry, and directing foot traffic according to site procedures.
