As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge checks, report and document activity with clear communication, and provide customer service to staff and visitors. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required based on client requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government facility location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying site leadership and/or appropriate public agency contacts as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, verify visitor and employee authorization as required, and assist with directions, basic information, and de-escalation when needed.
  • Complete required logs, incident reports, and shift handoffs, and communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and/or site representatives per site-specific procedures.
