About The Position

As a Security Officer - TWIC Gatehouse Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy manufacturing and industrial location where you will manage access control, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, and document entries and incidents with clear communication. You will conduct routine patrols and remain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related issues while delivering customer service with integrity. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state, supported by a caring, team-focused culture.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and contractors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Control access at entry points by checking identification, issuing and collecting badges, verifying visitor authorization, and maintaining accurate entry and exit logs.
  • Screen and/or inspect vehicles, deliveries, and contractor equipment as required, verify shipping and receiving documentation, and report irregularities through the established chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and communicating with site leadership and/or local emergency services when directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, noting and reporting hazards or maintenance concerns.
