About The Position

As a Security Officer - Truck Gate in Shippensburg, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage entry points, check credentials, support visitor and vendor check-in, and monitor assigned areas for security-related concerns. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help deter incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to on-site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Control access at entry points by checking identification, issuing temporary credentials as directed, verifying appointments, and maintaining visitor, contractor, and delivery logs.
Support a professional check-in and check-out process for employees, vendors, and truck drivers, including directing traffic flow to designated docks, staging areas, and parking locations.
Monitor and help to manage access to restricted areas within an industrial location by confirming authorization and escalating concerns per post orders.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and Allied Universal supervision as required.
Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production-adjacent areas, and the perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and potential hazards, then report findings per procedure.
Operate access control and monitoring tools such as badge readers, cameras, intercoms, and alarm panels in accordance with training and site instructions.
Complete detailed written reports and activity logs, including access denials, unusual occurrences, and incident documentation, following site and Allied Universal guidelines.
Coordinate with operations staff regarding shift changes, scheduled maintenance, and high-volume shipping and receiving periods to support orderly access control.
Maintain a visible presence at entrances and key points to help to discourage unauthorized entry and/or policy violations while providing clear directions and assistance.
