About The Position

The Security Officer at UCLA Health Systems is responsible for protecting and guarding all assets, staff, patients, and visitors at the UCLA Primary & Specialty Care Clinic located in The BLOC, Downtown LA. This role involves performing regular patrols, documenting activities, enforcing policies and laws, and ensuring compliance with state regulatory requirements. Requirements

• Possess and maintain current certification: Guard Card, D.O.J. Chemical Agent, CPR, and driver's license.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely using appropriate vocabulary and spelling.
• Ability to complete continual training classes as required.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with various stakeholders.
• Ability to independently resolve issues within set policies and procedures.
• Ability to operate security-related equipment and general office equipment.
• Knowledge of security practices, protocols, and techniques.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of applicable geography to expedite calls and be an effective information source.
• Knowledge of penal and radio codes and language used in radio communications.
• Demonstrated ability to assess problematic or emergency situations and plan/execute appropriate solutions.

Responsibilities

• Protect and guard all assets, staff, patients, and visitors in and around the UCLA Primary & Specialty Care Clinic.
• Perform regular patrols and document all routine activities and incidents.
• Enforce all policies and state laws, following guidelines including state regulatory agency requirements.
• May perform in a lead capacity and other duties as assigned.
