Job Description As a Security Officer - After-Hours Patrol Officer in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education campus location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, support access control and badge checks, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with students, staff, and visitors while delivering strong customer service. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence hall exteriors, common areas, and parking locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions such as propped doors, unauthorized gatherings, and/or suspicious behavior, then take appropriate action within post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, documenting observations, and/or notifying campus contacts and emergency services as directed.
  • Complete required reports and logs, communicate notable activity to the site supervisor, and support security-related investigations by preserving observations and/or relevant information.
