About The Position

As a Security Officer - Tech Campus Patrols FT in Suffolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic tech and media environment, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining visible and approachable. You will provide exceptional customer service, support access control, and communicate clearly to foster a secure atmosphere. Requirements

A guard card or license is preferred.
CPR certification is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the location.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
Document observations and/or incidents according to established protocols and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
Offer visible presence to help to deter unauthorized access and promote a secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets.
Support access control processes by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying credentials as required.
Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and on-site contacts to address security-related needs specific to a technology, media, and telecom environment.
