Security Officer - Tech Campus Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Tech Campus Patrol in Chesapeake, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a dynamic tech and media location. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication. You will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment, engaging with employees and visitors, and upholding our values of agility, reliability, and teamwork every day.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe for any unusual or suspicious activity.
- Document and report incidents, observations, or issues according to Allied Universal protocols.
- Collaborate with site personnel and/or local authorities as needed to address security-related matters.
- Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized activity within the tech, media, and telecom environment.
