About The Position

As a Security Officer - Tech Campus Patrol in Champaign, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents while you conduct routine patrols and provide exceptional customer service. You will play a key role in fostering a secure environment by remaining visible, communicating clearly, and embodying our values of agility, reliability, innovation, and teamwork.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor the location for any unusual activity or security-related issues, reporting observations as required.
Support access control procedures by verifying credentials and monitoring entry points as needed.
Communicate clearly with team members and site representatives regarding incidents, observations, and/or instructions.
Maintain a professional presence and uphold Allied Universal standards while interacting with employees, visitors, and/or contractors at the location.
