About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control Patrol Officer in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic retail location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Loss prevention experience is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.
A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report observed concerns according to site protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and/or potential risks, helping to deter loss, trespassing, and other unwanted behavior through visible presence and professional interaction.
Support access control and site operations by observing entry and exit activity, assisting with directional questions, and documenting security-related incidents and/or daily activities.
