About The Position

As a Security Officer - Station Coverage in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a high-traffic government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and report concerns with clear communication. You will support riders and staff with professional customer service while working as part of an agile, reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout transit facilities and surrounding perimeter areas to help to deter loitering, unauthorized access, and other policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site representatives and public agency personnel as directed.
  • Monitor designated entry points and restricted areas, verify identification and/or access authorization when required, and direct individuals to appropriate customer assistance resources.
  • Document routine and unusual activity in daily logs and incident reports, and communicate observations, hazards, and maintenance concerns through established reporting channels.
