About The Position
As a SECURITY OFFICER(SPECIAL ACCESS PROGRAMS) at the GS-0080-14, you will provide expert advice and guidance on all staffing actions regarding operations and support of Special Access Programs (SAPs) as they affect the Joint Staff. You will serve as the principal expert representing the Joint Staff to senior members of program and oversight representatives for other federal national level agencies to ensure mutual understanding of objectives and proper interpretation and implementation of guidance, policies, and procedures on matters relevant to apportionment, oversight, and special access programs. You will use a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to independently review, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems, exercising technical oversight over all Joint Staff and Combatant Command (CCMD) DoD SAP security offices. Additionally, you will advise on all SAP governance, protection, and oversight matters, initiate, draft, and recommend changes to policy directives and instructions to senior JS leaders, and implement guidance within Joint Staff and Combatant Commands. You will also resolve classification and declassification problem areas, review contractor documents for appropriate security clauses, develop and maintain inspection criteria, security procedures, and standards for SAPs, and manage all aspects of Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM).
