Job Description As a Security Officer - Site Patrol Rounds in Canoga Park, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support guests and tenants with strong customer service and clear communication. You will complete routine rounds, respond to situations as they arise, and document activity with attention to detail. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
- Pepper spray certification is preferred.
- Handcuffing certification is preferred.
- The ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors and tenants by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and/or mall location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including addressing disturbances, supporting de-escalation efforts, and contacting emergency services when needed.
- Monitor and/or control access points as assigned, assist with directions and general inquiries, and help maintain order during peak traffic times and special events.
- Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
