About The Position
As a Security Officer - Shopping Center Patrol in Lancaster, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. You will document observations, support store teams through teamwork, and represent our agile, reliable, and innovative culture that puts people first and acts with integrity.
Requirements
- Customer Service Experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout retail sales floors, common areas, stock areas, and building perimeters; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Monitor entrances and exits, observe shopper and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or hazards to the appropriate parties.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, gathering information, and requesting additional support when needed.
- Complete required documentation such as shift logs, incident reports, and patrol activity notes in accordance with site-specific procedures.
