As a Security Officer - Shelter Unarmed Patrol Full-Time in Long Island City, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol residential and shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will conduct routine patrols, interact courteously with residents and visitors, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
At least one year of security-related experience is required.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control or badge experience is preferred.
X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential and shelter locations, including both interior and exterior areas, to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to observe and report any suspicious behavior or security-related incidents.
Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal procedures.
Work collaboratively with on-site staff and emergency responders as needed to address issues and support the well-being of occupants.
Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned location to help to deter potential disturbances and provide reassurance to clients and residents.
