Job Description As a Security Officer - Shelter Unarmed Patrol Team in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a reassuring presence for residents and staff. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, remaining visible throughout the property, and delivering exceptional customer service through strong communication. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the shelter environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report any suspicious activities or hazards encountered during patrols.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
• Communicate professionally with shelter staff, residents, and visitors to address questions or concerns.
• Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow all Allied Universal and site-specific protocols while performing duties at the shelter location.
