About The Position
As a Security Officer - Shelter Grounds Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations within the shelter environment in a calm and problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
- Observe and report any unusual activities or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist shelter staff, residents, and visitors with security-related needs and inquiries.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain order within the location.
- Support Allied Universal management and site leadership by following all post orders and guidelines specific to the shelter environment.
