About The Position

As a Security Officer - Seminary Cmpus in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer supporting a cultural institution, you will manage access control at key entry points, greet visitors and staff with professionalism, and verify credentials and visitor logs. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and respond to incidents with clear communication and detailed reporting. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, clergy, volunteers, and vendors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, managing visitor sign-in, issuing badges as directed, and directing guests to approved areas.
  • Monitor and document arrivals, departures, deliveries, and unusual activity, and report concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications, assisting with evacuations, and supporting first responder access when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas, watching for hazards, unsecured doors, or suspicious conditions, and documenting findings per post orders.
