Job Description As a Security Officer - Screening Station in Newark, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help monitor entry points, screen visitors and vehicles, verify credentials, and support access control procedures. You will also conduct routine patrols, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with drivers, associates, and leadership. Requirements

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors by verifying identification, confirming authorization to enter restricted areas, and/or conducting package and property inspections in accordance with site policy.
  • Support access control at entry points and shipping and receiving areas by monitoring inbound and outbound traffic flow, coordinating with site contacts, and documenting entries and exits as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations through established communication and documentation channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the building, yard, and perimeter, with working environments and conditions that may vary by site area and operational needs.
