About The Position

As a Security Officer - Screening Desk Attendant in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location as a Screener, supporting security-related operations at key access points. You will conduct X-ray screening of packages and/or belongings, monitor assigned areas, complete routine patrols, and communicate concerns promptly while delivering excellent customer service. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen employees, contractors, and/or visitors at access points by verifying identification and credentials, following entry and exit procedures, and documenting required information.
  • Conduct screening of packages, parcels, and/or shipments for prohibited items using authorized screening methods and equipment, and follow escalation procedures when issues are identified.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas such as entrances, docks, staging areas, and perimeter routes, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
