Security Officer - Screener
About The Position
As a Security Officer Screener in Anchorage, AK, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a government location, where you will welcome visitors, conduct entry screening, and support access procedures with professionalism and care. You will maintain a visible presence, help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver clear communication and customer service. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
- Screen visitors, staff, and/or permitted items at entry points using assigned equipment and established access procedures.
- Respond to incidents, prohibited item discoveries, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while notifying appropriate personnel.
- Monitor entrances, checkpoints, and public areas to help support orderly movement of people through the location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the building and perimeter as assigned, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
