As a Security Officer Part Time Screener in Uniondale, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution. This role offers flexibility, allowing you to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using the Claim a Shift platform. As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will support security-related screening activities, monitor access points, and interact with employees, visitors, and delivery personnel with professionalism and care. The position requires you to stay active, communicate clearly, and contribute to a smooth operation while representing Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen individuals, packages, and/or personal items at designated entry and exit points in accordance with site policies, and report suspicious, prohibited, and/or unusual activity to the appropriate personnel.
  • Verify credentials, shipping documentation, and/or visitor information before permitting access to restricted areas, while helping to support security-related procedures and orderly site operations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations, screening results, and/or irregular events according to post instructions.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, loading zones, and perimeter locations as directed, noting conditions that may require follow-up or additional security-related attention.
