As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and work as part of an agile, reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, families, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of school buildings, parking areas, play areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points during arrival, dismissal, and events by checking identification, directing visitors to sign in, and following visitor management procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting staff with de-escalation and communicating with local responders as needed.
  • Complete routine logs and incident reports, report hazards and maintenance concerns, and communicate post instructions and observed concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
