As a Security Officer - School Entry Desk in Wayne, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. Your role involves monitoring access, verifying credentials, and providing exceptional customer service to help foster a secure and welcoming environment. By staying alert and approachable, you will help to deter security-related incidents while embodying our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk of an educational location.
Monitor access to the premises by verifying identification and/or credentials of students, staff, and visitors.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols.
Assist with emergency response activities as directed, including communicating with appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences at the front desk.
Support a welcoming environment while helping to deter unauthorized access or prohibited activities within the educational location.
Answer questions and provide information to visitors and staff regarding building policies, directions, and/or general inquiries.
