Job Description As a Security Officer - Roving Patrol 21+ in Washington, DC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution, you will monitor galleries and public spaces, conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related concerns, and support visitors with clear, professional communication. You will document observations, respond to incidents, and partner with site staff to keep operations running smoothly. Requirements
- Be 21+ Years of Age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution setting.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of communication.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout galleries, exhibit areas, offices, storage areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and visitor flow, assist with directions and general inquiries, and help maintain orderly entry and exit during peak attendance and special events.
- Complete patrol and incident documentation, report maintenance hazards and/or suspicious conditions, and coordinate with onsite staff regarding security-related observations.
