About The Position

As a Security Officer in South Portland, ME, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed professional with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail distribution locations to help to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, responding to emergency situations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail distribution location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and report any irregularities such as property damage, theft, or any unusual occurrences within the location.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with Allied Universal management and client representatives regarding incidents and daily activities.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and helping to direct visitors as needed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patrols, incidents, and other security-related activities as required by site procedures.
• Support emergency response efforts by following established protocols and assisting law enforcement or emergency personnel as needed.
