About The Position

As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in Happy Valley, OR , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy retail location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support customers and store teams with clear communication and service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements, giving you variety as you move between areas and respond to needs with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floor areas, entrances and exits, back-of-house areas, and the exterior perimeter such as parking areas and cart storage zones.
Observe customer and associate activity for unusual behavior and potential policy violations, helping to deter theft and/or other loss-related activity through high-visibility presence and professional engagement.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical situations, and suspicious activity, and request additional assistance when needed.
Support access control at main entrances, emergency exits, and receiving areas by monitoring traffic flow, checking authorized entry where required, and reporting concerns to site leadership.
Monitor cameras and/or alarms when assigned, communicate observations to site contacts, and document relevant details in accordance with post orders.
Write clear and accurate reports of daily activity, incidents, and observations, including times, locations, and actions taken.
Provide directions and general assistance to customers and associates, helping maintain an orderly shopping environment during normal operations and peak traffic periods.
Coordinate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as directed by site leadership and Allied Universal protocols.
Perform additional duties as assigned in accordance with site-specific policies and Allied Universal standards.
