Job Description As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in Chico, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail and mall locations, helping to deter security-related incidents through your visible presence. You will interact with visitors, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly with both team members and the public. Requirements
- A guard card or security license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the retail location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence throughout the retail or mall environment.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and to observe and report any unusual circumstances.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and other key areas to help to deter theft, vandalism, or other unwanted activity within the retail environment.
- Communicate and collaborate with retail staff and management regarding security-related matters, offering assistance as needed.
- Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal protocols and site-specific requirements.
