Job Description As a Security Officer - Residential Patrol in San Diego, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hotels & Resorts, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a hotel and resort location, you will conduct routine patrols of guest areas and property grounds, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with calm, clear communication. You will document observations, support staff and guests with customer-focused service, and contribute to a caring culture that is agile, reliable, innovative, team-driven, and grounded in integrity.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to guests, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a hotel and resort location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including guest concerns, disturbances, and property-related issues, and escalate to management and/or emergency services as needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of common areas, guest-facing spaces, back-of-house areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
Monitor access points and assist with guest and vendor entry, deliveries, and service traffic in accordance with site procedures.
Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations, and complete detailed reports using Allied Universal reporting processes.
Support event and amenity coverage by providing a visible presence, assisting with crowd flow, and coordinating with site staff during higher traffic periods.
Conduct checks of doors, gates, and restricted areas and report maintenance concerns such as lighting outages, damaged locks, and other conditions that may impact operations.
Use two-way radios, phones, and/or other communication tools to coordinate with site personnel and Allied Universal supervision and document actions taken.
Assist with lost and found procedures and guest service requests as directed by site policy while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Participate in emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations and providing information to responding personnel.
