As a Screener with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help support day-to-day security-related operations by screening employees, contractors, and visitors, checking credentials, monitoring access points, and documenting activity. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate clearly, and respond to concerns with professionalism and care. Requirements

  • Have at least 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Have supervisory experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and emergency response procedures appropriate to a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Perform screening duties at designated entry points, including verifying identification, checking credentials, and confirming authorization for entry and/or access to restricted areas.
  • Conduct package, bag, and equipment inspections as required by site policy while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
  • Support vehicle and delivery screening activities, including checking driver credentials, reviewing shipping paperwork, and directing vehicles to approved routes and staging areas.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity and report irregularities, policy violations, and suspicious behavior to site leadership and/or appropriate responders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as radios, telephones, access control devices, and surveillance equipment per site procedures.
  • Complete required logs, screening records, and incident reports in a timely manner with clear, accurate information.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, as assigned, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.
  • Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, shelter instructions, and accountability processes as directed by site leadership.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining a consistent screening presence, enforcing visitor management procedures, and challenging access issues according to policy.
  • Coordinate with site operations and third-party responders regarding access requests, alarms, and incident notifications as needed.
