About The Position

The purpose of this job is to provide 24/7 security at multiple city government buildings and maintain a secure and safe environment for all employees and visitors.

Requirements

• High school Diploma, GED or equivalent
• No experience required
• Must be able to work shifts, weekends and holidays
• May be required to work flexible hours and call-back duty
• Individuals recommended for employment will be required to submit to a drug test and background check

• Security experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Manages the flow of visitors entering city operated buildings to maintain security of the premises and guards against theft
• Monitor CCTV system for unusual activities
• Answers alarms and investigates disturbances
• Conduct walking/vehicle patrols during each shift to maintain a safe environment
• Circulates among visitors, patrons and employees to preserve order and protect property
• Assists with security in Council meetings
• Monitor buildings for fire, electrical, water and any other issue that may cause damage
• Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as property damage, theft or the presence of unauthorized persons
• Performs related work as assigned
