As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet shoppers and tenants, respond to questions and concerns, and communicate clear updates to your team. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail or mall location.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, retail corridors, parking areas, loading areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns, and help to deter unwanted activity through high-visibility presence and frequent patrol checks.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical calls, disorderly conduct, lost and found situations, and tenant or guest concerns.
- Complete required reports and logs, communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision, and coordinate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
