As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public spaces, and staff areas, maintaining a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine rounds, observe and report unusual activity, assist visitors with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with site teams. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, public areas, offices, and perimeter areas to help to deter suspicious activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor entrances, exhibit areas, and restricted spaces to help manage access, observe for unusual behavior, and/or address prohibited items or conduct in accordance with site guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, coordinating with site representatives, and/or contacting emergency services as directed by procedure.
  • Complete required documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift handoff notes, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
