About The Position

The Security Officer performs a variety of duties involving safety, security, emergency management, monitors CCTV cameras, responds to and investigates security incidents, and assists and interacts with patients, visitors, vendors and staff as needed. Security Officers may be required to perform other tasks or duties as requested by the Security Manager or Director.

Requirements

• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations.
• Ability to maintain calm composure under stressful conditions.
• Ability to use effective people skills in person and on the phone.
• Ability to handle interpersonal situations and crisis management scenarios.
• Displays sound customer service skills.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and routine correspondence.
• Ability to gather facts and evidence.
• Ability to deescalate disruptive or harmful behavior.
• Ability to lift patients and walk at a rapid pace.
• Computer literate and able to use e-mail and basic Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
• Ability to speak, read, and write clearly in English.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
