About The Position

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to join our team in Beckley, West Virginia. This position is PRN (as needed) and involves protecting employees, patients, and visitors of the hospital, as well as safeguarding hospital supplies and equipment. The Security Officer will enforce security policies and procedures, observe suspicious activities, and assist in emergencies such as injuries, sickness, riots, or fires.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be received within 30 days of hire.
• Valid West Virginia driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in healthcare security and/or safety field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides for the safety and security of all persons (patients, visitors, and staff) and property.
• Enforces all federal, state, and local laws as well as facility policies and procedures.
• Maintains professional competency by staying up-to-date on the changing trends of security procedures and practices.
• Demonstrates understanding of the proper guidelines for the use of force.
