As a Security Officer - Apartment Complex Patrol in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, entrances, and public spaces, staying highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will conduct routine rounds, observe and report unusual activity, assist visitors with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with staff and partners. Requirements

  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution setting.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of galleries, exhibit spaces, offices, loading areas, and perimeter routes, noting and reporting unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy concerns.
  • Monitor access points and interior areas, verify credentials as required, and help to deter unauthorized entry and/or restricted-area access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including guest assistance, policy guidance, and coordination with site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs, communicate observations to the appropriate contacts, and use surveillance and/or communications equipment in support of assigned post duties.
