As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to reduce security-related incidents. You will observe and report concerns, assist staff and residents with clear communication, and deliver customer service with professionalism. Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific, security-related procedures and policies at a shelter location and, when appropriate, support emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or policy concerns.
  • Monitor entrances and common areas, assist with access control, and verify visitor and/or vendor authorization in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and requesting additional assistance when needed.
  • Document patrols, observations, and incidents through written reports and communication with site representatives and/or Allied Universal leadership.
