About The Position

Reports directly to the Security Supervisor. Patrols and responds to calls throughout all areas of the hospital. Maintains a safe/secure environment for patients, employees and visitors by upholding applicable Federal/State laws and Emanate Health policies in an effective and tactful manner. Although tasks are performed within established departmental operating procedures, decision-making is varied and performed routinely under moderate pressure and occasionally under extreme stress.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or one year of security experience.
• One year experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
• Familiarity with hospital environment.
• Working knowledge of electronics, access control systems, electronics locking hardware, and CCTV.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Valid California Guard Card and California Driver’s License required.
• American Heart Association – BLS certification and Baton and Pepper spray must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Two years of continuous driving experience in California required.
• No major convictions (e.g., DUI/DWI, hit and run, etc.) and specific driving record requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Assaultive Behavior Training Certification that meets AB508 and SB1299 required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Completion of Emanate Health Work Place Violence online awareness module within 30 days of hire/transfer if training was completed outside of Emanate Health.
