About The Position

The Security Officer at Genesee Brewing Company plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors. This position is responsible for responding to emergencies, monitoring the facility, and ensuring the safety of all individuals on the premises. The role requires flexibility to cover various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Requirements

• 1+ years of Security experience
• NYS Security License
• NYS Driver's License
• First Responder, AED, and BAT certifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice is a plus
• Ability to assess and diffuse contentious situations and maintain confidentiality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Assure the Safety and Security of employees and visitors.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to medical and facility emergencies.
• Lock down/open up the brewery, monitor facility via surveillance cameras, vehicle and foot patrols.
• Ensure employees enter/exit grounds and building safely, scheduling 24/7 Security coverage.
• Monitor 34 surveillance cameras for external access and Company parking lots.
• Monitor Simplex fire alarm system including ammonia hazard awareness.
• Perform Security rounds, including extensive walking and stair climbing.
• Work the front desk reception area to greet and log-in visitors and dispatch incoming calls.
• Act as First Responder for emergency situations, including medical transports when necessary.
• Provide Security Training for emergency situations such as Medical, Active Shooter, Bomb Threats, etc.
• Accurately maintain daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Issue employee ID badges/parking cards and manage access control.
• Participate in daily shift team meetings to keep Security staff updated.
• Provide security assistance with patrons to the Genesee Brew House as needed.
• Provide security for Brew House community events and TIF Program, including traffic control.
• Collaborate with community neighborhood and Law Enforcement Agencies for safety.
• Assist with employee health and safety initiatives, such as staffing temperature validation sites.
