Security Officer - Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Hotel Patrol in Petersburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site teams, and deliver customer service that builds trust. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of office areas, common spaces, loading and delivery areas, and exterior perimeters to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and visitor traffic, verify credentials as required, and report unusual activity per post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, alarms, and disturbances, and communicate updates to site leadership and/or responding agencies.
- Document patrols, incidents, and security-related concerns in daily activity reports and incident reports, and notify supervision of maintenance hazards, door issues, or other conditions needing attention.
