Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed-Experienced Patrol in Austin, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech campus location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control points, communicate clearly with team members and site contacts, and deliver a customer service focused experience. At Allied Universal, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and an agile, reliable approach to every shift.
Requirements
- Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience or 5+ years armed security experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech and media location.
- Help to control access to buildings and restricted areas by verifying identification, supporting visitor check-in and/or badging processes, and directing individuals to the appropriate destinations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, notifying site contacts, and coordinating with public responders when required.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout offices, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns per post orders.
- Monitor alarm systems, cameras, and other security-related technology where assigned, complete routine reports, and document incidents, observations, and maintenance issues.
