About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol 6+ Months in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor flow, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and the public. Bring a people-first mindset as you deliver through teamwork, stay agile and reliable, and act with integrity every shift.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 6 months of security-related experience.
• Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Guard card and or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, residents, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, common areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor entrances, lobbies, and other assigned areas; assist with access control, visitor direction, and/or coordination of deliveries according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, and unusual activity in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate relevant information during shift turnovers.
