About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol Specialist in Lansing, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic chemical and petrochemical location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support access activity, respond to site needs, and deliver strong customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all visitors, contractors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions taken in accordance with site guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials where required, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance issues, spills, and/or other unusual conditions to the appropriate site contacts.
  • Support site operations by communicating clearly with Allied Universal leadership, local personnel, and/or emergency responders during routine activities and elevated situations.
