Security Officer - Patrol Services
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Patrol Services in Costa Mesa, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy government airport location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge procedures, assist visitors and staff with clear communication, and document activity using computer or tablet tools. Requirements
- Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be able to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation facility.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and public agency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of terminal areas, parking areas, roadways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Control access by monitoring entry points, checking credentials as directed, and directing visitors to appropriate locations in accordance with site requirements.
- Complete detailed shift documentation including patrol activity, incident reports, and log entries, and communicate status updates to supervision and/or site representatives.
