About The Position
As a Security Officer Patrol Guardian in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution location.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site protocols.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, exhibit spaces, public areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, assist with access control procedures, and communicate with staff and/or visitors regarding location rules and expectations.
- Support the protection of collections, exhibits, and facility property by documenting incidents, notifying appropriate personnel, and following post orders and Allied Universal guidelines.
