As a Security Officer Patrol Enhanced Part Time in Seattle, WA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role involves a fixed-shift commitment ("Anchor Shifts") for a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six (6) month commitment. Additionally, employees can earn more through the Claim-A-Shift Program by picking up extra shifts via the scheduling platform, allowing for increased earnings and experience across multiple sites. This allows for working part-time hours one week and full-time the next, with the option to scale back when needed. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of platforms, stations, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, assist with directions and general information, and help to support orderly movement throughout the location.
  • Communicate with local authorities, transit personnel, and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, suspicious activity, and/or operational needs while following post orders and client guidelines.
