About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver in Goleta, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will complete mobile and foot patrols, monitor assigned areas, and document security-related activity. You will stay highly visible to help discourage incidents, respond to alarms and/or calls for service, and provide clear, professional customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, supported by a caring team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to onsite personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and process-area concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, process areas, tank farms, docks, and perimeter routes, documenting observations to help to deter unauthorized access and/or loss.
  • Control access by checking identification, logging visitors and contractors, verifying deliveries, and directing traffic flow in accordance with post orders.
  • Complete timely written and electronic reports, including shift activity logs, incident documentation, and maintenance or access issues, and communicate updates during shift turnover.
