About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver in Lancaster, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as College Campuses, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a College Campus, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, document observations, and respond to concerns with a service-focused approach that reflects Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors at a College Campus by following Allied Universal and site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and security-related policies, and/or supporting emergency response activities when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, corridors, grounds, and perimeter areas; observe conditions, document activity, and report maintenance hazards, suspicious behavior, and policy concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for service in a calm, problem-solving manner; de-escalate situations when appropriate and contact site personnel and/or public emergency services as required.
  • Control access at designated entrances by verifying identification and/or credentials, directing visitors to proper check-in areas, monitoring restricted zones, and assisting with property and key control procedures as assigned.
  • Complete thorough shift reports, incident documentation, and log entries; communicate observations and handoffs to the next officer and site representatives using approved channels.
