Security Officer - Patrol Driver - Evenings
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Roving Patrol Driver in Ottawa, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication to staff and visitors. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and meeting Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures and policies at an industrial chemical and/or petrochemical location, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, production-adjacent areas, staging yards, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorization as required, and assist with visitor check-in and directional support in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate with site contacts and public responders as directed.
- Complete detailed reports and logs of patrols, incidents, and observations; escalate maintenance hazards, spills, odors, or other process-related concerns to site management per post orders.
